Join the Adirondack Soaring Club Today!

REGULAR MEMBER ($500): A regular member has full voting right, is entitled to no-fee instruction by club instructors and no-hourly charge on flight time in club gliders. This membership is non-refundable one time fee. All members are required to pay monthly club dues to cover insurance, tie-down, and maintenance. A membership to the Soaring Society of America is required. Membership can be paid over the first five-months at $100 per month. Board Approval Required.

LONG DISTANCE MEMBER ($500): A member who resides more than 120 miles from Saratoga Springs. This member pays half the current due rate and is entitled to fly the club Blaniks. This membership is non-refundable. A membership to the Soaring Society of America is required. Board Approval Required.

JUNIOR MEMBER ($100): A member between the ages of 13-21 which has non-voting membership in the club. A junior member must assist in flight line and maintenance duties. A junior member is entitled to no-fee instruction and no-hourly charge on flight time in club gliders. A junior member may upgrade to a full membership by paying the additional $400. This membership is non-refundable. All Junior Members are required to pay ½ the monthly club dues to cover insurance, tiedown, and maintenance. A membership to the Soaring Society of America is required. Board Approval Required.

TOWPILOT (No Cost): A towpilot is a member who helps by providing tows with the towplane leased to the club. Under this membership the member is entitled to fly the towplane. A membership upgrade to share holding member is required to solo club gliders. A membership to the Soaring Society of America is required. Board Approval Required.

TEMPORARY TOW MEMBERSHIP ($30/ month): - A member who resides more than 120 miles from Saratoga Springs. This membership entitles the member to receive tows in their sailplane. This membership has 3 month consecutive limit. A membership to the Soaring Society of America is required. Board Approval Required.

As of 5/11/08,Current membership dues are:
$20/ month for a REGULAR MEMBER
$10/ month for the JUNIOR MEMBER
$10/ month for the LONGDISTANCE MEMBER

As of 5/11/08, Current club tow rates are:
$15 for a 1,000 ft TOW
$25 for a 2,000 ft TOW
$35 for a 3,000 ft TOW

Soaring Society of America membership is:
$64 per year for a Regular Membership
$36 per year for a Youth or Family Membership

The Adirondack Soaring Club would like to make special recognition to our members for their personal accomplishments.

April 13, 2008: Cold Front comes through with cloudbase at 8,000 ft AGL. Tim Leslie, Steve Harrison, & George Hanke climb with rates over 1,000 ft/m.

October 2007: Bill Cangero purchases a Pilatus. Private gliders include Std. Austria, (5) Libelle 201's, Std. Cirrus,(2) DG-100's, LS-1F, LS-8, Ka-6CR, Grob 109, Duo Discus, Diamond Extreme, SF-26,Salto, LAK-12, and a Mosquito. Total Private Fleet is (20)gliders.

October 28, 2007: George Hanke and Gordon Squire climb to 11,000 ft and continue climbing at 4 knots in wave.

September 15, 2007: WAVE! Again.. George & Tim Hanke climb to 16,500 and Bob Iluiano climbs to 16,000 ft and earns his GOLD Altitude.

August 18, 2007: WAVE!! Several members flew between 12,0000 to 18,000 ft.

Congratulations to Michele Hight & Emily Christain on their solo flights. Also, to Charlie Hudson & RJ Studzmann on obtaining their Private Pilot Glider Liscences.
